Abstract

It is widely known that getting enough sleep is crucial for our bodies to function properly. Unfortunately, sleep issues are a common complaint among many individuals. Recent studies have revealed that more than 30% of the adult population may be affected by sleep disruptions. To explore this further, researchers searched electronic databases for articles published between January 2014 and January 2024. After analyzing the data, it was found that ten studies had shown exercise to be effective in improving certain sleep outcomes. These studies included both objective and subjective measures of sleep and an exercise intervention. Based on our review of these studies, it can be concluded that exercise has the potential to improve sleep quality and duration in adults. However, to make this information more widely accessible and useful, a large, well-designed, and inclusive meta-analysis is needed.
